Stone, ceramic and porcelain tiled floor finishes are a perfect choice with electric underfloor heating. They deliver radiant heat quickly and retain heat well.
You can tile directly over the top of Comfortzone underfloor heating systems for quick and easy installation! But remember a layer of insulation should always be included to maximise the efficiency of your electric underfloor heating system.
Low build up! Comfortzone electric underfloor heating is just 3.5mm thick. The cable is thin enough for use in refurbishment projects as there is only a very slight build-up in the floor. The heating system can be concealed within the tile adhesive and is extremely popular in kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms because it aids floor drying and helps to prevent mould and condensation.
You can tile directly over it! When tiling over your electric underfloor heating element you must take care to use a full bed of adhesive for each tile. This ensures that all of the heating element is contained within the adhesive and the heat can dissipate from the cable up into the floor and the room above.
Don’t forget! A layer of insulation should always be included to minimise downward heat loss. Our insulation board is 100% water resistant and rot proof so is ideal for wet rooms. The high thermal efficiency makes it a great insulator to keep you snug and warm. The boards are cement coated to make tiling easy and they can be cut easily, so your tiler or bathroom fitter will love them!
